Marliave, nestled in the heart of Boston, is an exceptional French restaurant that has garnered praise for its vibrant atmosphere and delectable cuisine. Many patrons, such as Sam Mack, highlight the inviting vibe, especially when seated downstairs. The drink selection complements the culinary lineup, with many recommending the libation menu.
For seafood lovers, Marliave is a gem. Jason raves about their oysters, suggesting they are among the best in the city. The menu is diverse, appealing to a range of tastes. Andy Zhang praises the escargot, noting its rich, cheesy flavor, while the filet Wellington and fluffy gnocchi steal the show with their exquisite textures.
The ambiance is ideal for pre-theater dining, as noted by Kurt Federow, who appreciates the view and the tasteful risotto. Moreover, happy hour offers delightful surprises, with shrimp, clams, and oysters priced at just one dollar each, a deal that Slava Sponitz enjoyed immensely alongside refreshing beers.
Overall, Marliave is a culinary destination that successfully merges remarkable dishes with an inviting atmosphere, making it a must-visit for anyone in Boston.

Absolutely love this place. I recommend sitting downstairs the vibe is better. The food is amazing and the drinks of the libation menu are very good! There is one waitress who is kind of rude but if you don’t get her it’s fantastic. I come here frequently.

THE place to get oysters! Every item on their menu is amazing and the staff are attentive, friendly and prompt. It's my favorite place to go to in Boston. Try the rarebits!

Surprisingly good French restaurant! The escargot is good and cheese-y, the steaks are nice. Try the Wellington with super fresh puff pastry and foie gras. The gnocchi is also good with fluffy texture.

Great pre theater place just off the path but close to everything. Great table with a view upstairs. Risotto was delicious - I enjoyed the Wellington but not the home run I was looking for as not enough pasty crust or pate for my taste. Great service too...

If you love oysters, clams and shrimps you are going to have an amazing happy hour there, because all of these stuff that I listed above would cost you only one dollar a peace. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant and with a couple beers we had a great time.

If you have read my other post you know I'm not a foodie. But when you walk into the second oldest restaurant in Boston which has a kind of a old Italian restaurant dive bar I've been here before feeling? Don't get me wrong this is not a dive bar stick to the floor place but it just has a very comfortable awesome ambiance. Started off with the escargo it was unbelievable. Then had the deep scallop plate with the Boston tea party beverage, fantastic meal and a great comfortable place. We sat at the upstairs bar and the service was just top notch. The place is mid-high price but well worth it.

Always amazing food and cocktails. We come here often for oyster deals. The risotto and mac and cheese are favorites, but everything is delicious

Amazing. We came here around 9 pm on a Monday night. It wasn't crowded so we got a great table by two walls of windows, which was amazing given that the restaurant has seating three stories up that gives you great views of the surrounding neighborhood. We were fortunate in that they were offering dollar oysters for 9 to 10 pm. The drinks were clever and fantastic...and a lot of them were bourbon based so right up my alley. Between the three of us we had 30 oysters, the duck liver ravioli, lobster thermador, cassoulet, and the diver scallops with sweet potato ravioli. We also got the.shrimp cocktail which turned out to be one shrimp...which was confusing and the only really disappointing part of the meal, even though it was still a great tasting shrimp. And the fact that it was right around the corner from our hotel made it convenient and allowed us to walk off a little bit of the delicious meal. Highly recommend this restaurant.
